Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message on Thursday, promising to deliver justice to the terror attack victims in Pahalgam. In a public speech in Bihar, he promised the country that India would not spare any effort to hunt down the attackers and their sympathizers.
"Today on the land of Bihar, I tell the entire world — India will find out, track down, and punish every terrorist and their supporters. We will chase them to the ends of the Earth," said the Prime Minister, barely a week after the ghastly act in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, where 26 people lost their lives, including tourists and security personnel.".
Supporting the country's resolve, PM Modi further said, "Terrorism will not be unpunished. All efforts will be made to see that justice is served. The whole nation is united in this determination," while addressing in Madhubani, Bihar. He also emphasized that India's unity and spirit are not shaken despite such threats.
In his speech at the National Panchayati Raj Day event, Modi took the people in a prayer for the victims. "Let all of us stand united during this time of mourning and for one minute, be in silence. I request all of you to remain in silence for a couple of minutes to honor the members of the family whom we lost during the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22," Modi declared, ending the tribute with the saying of "Om Shanti.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also showed firm condemnation of the Pahalgam attack, with national unity against terrorism. "Two days back, there was a terror attack in J&K's Pahalgam in which some people lost their lives. It is a very tragic incident, and we condemn it.". We offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and we stand together with them.The entire country is united against terrorism, and I thank PM Modi for that as well," Kumar said.
Following the ghastly attack, the central government has convened an all-party meeting in Parliament at 6 p.m. to discuss national security steps as well as the larger ramifications of the attack. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is said to head the meeting, sources said.
